About

 Welcome to Dawlish Ukulele Folk

Would you like to join a small group of novice ukulele players interested in practicing some simple songs?

Songs are selected for ease of playing (and singing) using simple chords.

The group intends to meet during daytime hours, once a week at a venue in Dawlish.

You will need a ukulele (Soprano, Concert or Tenor) for practice . A music songbook will be provided. A small fee is payable at each session to cover venue hire and administration costs.

Most of the songs use only a few basic chords and being able to read music is not required.

First session free to all new members. It may be possible to loan a ukulele, depending on numbers. If you are uncomfortable singing it’s OK just to play the the ukulele only.

If this appeals to you or require further information please contact me by email – address below.

    1. Hi Helen
Thank you for your interest in the group.
However I have been unable to get enough response to form the group. I think because it was aimed at daytime hours.
I am planning to change to evening sessions but in the middle of moving house, so a bit preoccupied at the moment!
There are Ukulele groups in nearby Newton Abbot (newtonabbotukuleleclub@gmail.com) and Exeter (Denise 07980082147) who would welcome you.
      kind regards
      Gordon
